Situation
After making several major acquisitions, a Fortune 20 company realized it needed to support its executives in managing large scale change. They decided to create a corporate Center of Excellence (CoE) to provide tools, staff and services that would support internal executives working through organizational change. In addition to setting up the CoE, the team needed to establish credibility with internal clients quickly, to encourage executives to make use of this new service model.
Approach
Kissinger Group stepped in to:
- Design and staff and internal organization, building needed competency models, roles, and workflows
- Define tools, templates for consulting work—plus a methodology for portfolio management
- Identify risks in transition and create a risk mitigation plan
- Establish a “go-to-market” strategy and communication plan for internal customers
- Provide overflow consulting for the group’s clients
Results
The company enjoyed a successful launch—internal customers understood the value of the new CoE, and demand for services grew quickly. Senior executives across this large and complex organization now trust and rely on the CoE for mission-critical assignments and Kissinger Group scored “fantastic results” across the board.
